The guitar playing is amazing on this album
I think this guitar playing is so other worldly. I can’t believe I never realized the girls singing backup on this tune. Wow! Donald, Walter and Co. must have been really serious about this album. The personnel are an embarrassment of riches. If I am listening to this album in my car…I just keep driving around until I can force myself to call it quits. It feels so scandalous! ; so nasty. I won’t quit- even if I have to go into overdrive once I get home to catch up on chores. The Dan is one of those top 5 or 10 albums I would need on the proverbial deserted island…
Another guitar lesson by Larry Carlton.
Pure SD magic!
Boz Scaggs Lowdown came on the radio earlier this week and after years of hearing it, I only just picked up that Larry Carlton played on that one as well.
Me, to myself: “Hmm. That sounds just like the guitar in those Steely Dan songs I love”….
MAN I LOVE THAT SONG, THE ENTIRE ALBUM. ROYAL SCAM!!!
