With his superb guitar technique and intelligent soloing, Lee Ritenour earned himself a special status among session guitarists, leaving his signature on numerous studio recordings in forty years. From rock and blues to Brazilian music, his influence spectrum is as wide as the styles of the musicians that he collaborated with. In 1991 Ritenour cofounded the successful smooth jazz band Fourplay, later leaving his place to his friend Larry Carlton, to be able to pursue his solo career. Lee Ritenour is more into the lighter side of jazz In his own projects, that brought him a wider popularity than  the jazz listeners. Ritenour’s emotionally loaded ballad “Heavenly Bodies” remain unforgettable.
